CareFusion has changed their decision to leave the Coachella Valley, moving their medical manufacturing to Minnesota, opting to stay in Palm Springs instead. The company made the announcement on Wednesday to the 300 employees whom were expecting to soon lose their jobs. CareFusion then shared the good news in a meeting at the Rabobank Regional Business Center with representatives from CVEP, the City of Palm Springs, the Governor's office and Southern California Edison.
"This is a perfect example of a successful partnership between the City of Palm Springs and CVEP, the Valley's regional economic development organization," said Tom Flavin, President & CEO of CVEP, who noted the City and CVEP have worked collaboratively with CareFusion for the past five months to bring about this "positive result that benefits everyone in the Coachella Valley."
Within minutes of the announcement the phones at CVEP were ringing with media requests for information, along with Twitter and Facebook postings sharing the exciting news!
