CVEP News

Good Morning,

The year may be winding down but it is busy at the Rabobank Regional Business Center.  Here is a highlight of what is happening at CVEP.

A Benefit for Workforce Excellence

This past Monday, chefs from across the valley convened at the 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro for the First Annual Chef Celebration Dinner benefitting CVEP's Workforce Excellence Program "Pathways to Success". For this worthy cause, the chefs created a menu showcasing their collective talents.  Each of the five courses was paired with a wine selection from 3rd Corner's international wine offerings.  The evening benefit raised over $6,500 in scholarship money for valley students.

 Chefs

CVEP would like to thank the 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro and Chefs (from L to R) Brent Pollock of the Lakes Country Club, Matt Smith of 3rd Corner, Emmanuel Janin of La Brasserie, Herve Glin of the Cork Tree and Stephen Strickland of La Quinta Resort & Club, for this such wonderful and successful night!

RRBC Awarded and Named New Host of SBDC

This week CVEP announced the Rabobank Regional Business Center (RRBC) was awarded and named the new host of the Coachella Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Hosting the CVSBDC office and thereby providing a broad range of small business support services furthers the RRBC role as a one stop shop for economic development. Funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of California and other private sector partners, the SBDC provides small businesses and entrepreneurs with expert consulting, effective training, access to investment capital and other resources. The new local office will support economic growth and development of the valley economy by advancing job creation and retention and business expansion. College of the Desert will serve as an additional partner, providing their expertise to offer a wide variety of training courses and workshops.
