This week The Desert Sun featured an article on the success of high school academies connecting students with industry partners. Workforce Excellence is a top priority for CVEP as spelled out in the blueprint and there is much support to focus on this goal. However, many of our Investors/Partners are still unclear about CVEP's efforts in this area. Creating Jobs in the Coachella Valley
Hardly a week goes by without seeing something about CVEP in the news and this week was no exception. This week however the focus was on a CVEP accelerator client. KPSP Local 2 as one of their ongoing segments called The JOBS Project featured Kentucky Denim President & CEO, Liat Tala. Kentucky Denim presently resides within the Rabobank Regional Business Center but recently announced she will be opening her business in Thousand Palms. Currently the manufacturing of Kentucky Denim apparel occurs in China but as of January 2 the clothing will be manufactured here in the Coachella Valley. This new manufacturing business forecasts hiring 400+ local employees over the next 5 years. Click here to watch the full KPSP Local 2 interview. Dinner for a Worthy Cause
The 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro is hosting the First Annual Chef Celebration Dinner benefitting CVEP's Workforce Excellence Program "Pathways to Success". The dinner will feature five popular local chefs preparing a five-course wine paring tasting menu on Monday December 5th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Cost is $100 per person and will feature chefs from Jackalope Ranch, The Cork Tree, LaQuinta Resort & Club, La Brasserie and 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro.
