CVEP News

Good Afternoon, here is a glimpse of what is happening at CVEP.

Unveiling of First of its Kind Fuel Cell Bus

On Monday, November 14, CVEP Investor SunLine Transit Agency will unveil the 7th Generation Hydrogen Fueled Vehicle the "American Fuel Cell Bus." "With flowing stars and stripes representing its birth place and the stately bald eagle symbolizing strength and freedom, this bus undoubtedly sends a message of pride and service to the Coachella Valley, as well as the entire nation. The launch of this "Made in America" bus will lead directly to the commercialization of fuel cell technology and inevitable associated workforce development in the industry. This marks a significant milestone on hydrogen fuel cell technology development for the transportation industry, while maintaining SunLine's leadership position in the alternative fuel and clean technology arena". CVEP Welcomes Wells Fargo as a Partner and Investor

Wells Fargo has graciously made two investments in CVEP over the last few months.  A $30,000 investment was made in our Workforce Excellence Program and this week Wells Fargo invested another $30,000 in our East Valley Office project.

Exciting news from CVEP's Workforce Excellence Academy

What started as a conversation at one of CVEP's Arts Media Entertainment industry council meetings one year ago has now turned into a mobile phone application available to the iTunes and the Android Market. The brainchild of Cathedral City teacher Matt Hamilton, an active partner in CVEP's Art's Media and Entertainment council,  and staff at The Desert Sun, CCNews delivers school news and information to parents, teachers, neighbors, anyone with a mobile phone or tablet. CCNews is written and produced by students in Hamilton's Digital Arts Technology Academy and covers such topics as school sports, student stories or information or upcoming Cathedral City High School activities. Read more about this cutting edge app and how to access it by clicking here to read Desert Sun's coverage.

A Regional Effort Addressing a potential Economic Threat

This past Wednesday CVEP participated and sponsored the Golf & Second Home Symposium focusing on the financial impact of golf and the importance of the second home community to the valley's economy.  It was a very well attended event and one that created much interest in the issue.  Attendees included representatives of the national golf community, local residents, real estate brokers and members of HOA's, country clubs and golf clubs from across the valley participated in this symposium.  A task force has been created to address these looming issues and to generate viable solutions to strengthen and sustain this unique housing sector.
