On Tuesday of this week CVEP attended The City of Coachella's very exciting groundbreaking ceremony for the city's Sixth Street downtown improvement project. The project is the first phase of the comprehensive Pueblo Viejo Revitalization Plan which is designed to create a beautiful, vibrant new downtown area and stimulate development on some currently vacant parcels as well as the renovation of some existing structures. The project, which will begin immediately and be completed by October 1, is being funded by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Coachella. CVEP to Host Nationally Recognized Education Leaders
This Monday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m., CVEP's Workforce Excellence Oversight Committee will host a special presentation on public education reform and education technology. The presentation will include remarks by the chief education officer of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce who will share how they have transformed their high school system and dramatically improved student achievement. The increase in student performance is largely credited to academies which enable students to learn through the lens of a career or academic theme, preparing them for both college and career. Two senior education representatives from the Ford Motor Company Fund will also be in attendance and give an overview of developments in the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies Next Generation Learning (Ford PAS NGL) national network. The event is open to the public. |
