Rabobank invests $250,000 into CVEP
CVEP is very excited to announce that Rabobank has made an investment of $250,000 in the organization. Recognizing the importance of the private sector's role in regional economic development, this contribution, the largest one time, private sector investment in CVEP's history, will be used to fund the completion of our regional business center. The building, which will be called the Rabobank Regional Business Center, will be operated by CVEP, and will serve as a source of comprehensive technology and business development resources for companies looking to develop, expand, or relocate to the Coachella Valley. Coachella Valley Energy Summit a Success!
In similar news, today's Desert Sun announces the launch in July of the iHub, an innovation hub designated for the cities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs. "The program is designed to spur economic recovery and growth by showcasing and supporting California's most promising 'hubs' of innovation". Last year the Coachella Valley area was one of only 12 iHubs designated in the State of California. CVEP to Host Student Showcase Celebrating Media Arts
Students representing twelve high school and college media arts programs in the Coachella Valley will exhibit their work at the Media Arts Student Showcase taking place Tuesday, May 24 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Indio Performing Arts Center (IPAC) in downtown Indio. The event will be hosted by CVEP's Arts Media and Entertainment Industry Council to create a venue where industry partners, teachers and students can network and learn more about each other's work. Students will be able to meet and talk with local industry partners to learn more about jobs and career opportunities available in the media arts, as well as opportunities for continued study at the college level.
