Desert Healthcare District Awards Grant To CVEP 

Desert Healthcare District has approved a $212,500 grant to CVEP's Pathways to Success program.  The grant allows for 25 scholarships for new students as well as additional funds for 21 previous scholarship recipients who are completing their degrees.  This grant will be awarded to local Valley healthcare students attending community college and four-year colleges/universities.  Preferences will be given to students majoring in healthcare at College of the Desert and CSUSB Palm Desert. 

CVEP Legislative Breakfast

Next Friday Senator Bill Emmerson, Senator Juan Vargas, Assemblyman Brian Nestande and a representative for Assemblyman V. Manuel Perez will converge on Bellatrix at the Classic Club.  The event will feature presentations and discussion sessions with the elected officials covering the economic impact of California's Budget on the Coachella Valley.  This is an event you don't want to miss!  Click here to register. 

CVEP's FAFSA Competition Gets National Attention

CVEP's recent FAFSA campaign was a success locally and is being talked about nationally.  CVEP program directors are considering sharing their story with a national audience to encourage similar competitions to increase FAFSA participation nationwide. 

Additionally, there was press coverage in several out of Valley news bulletins.  The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators sends a daily news update to all of its members, CVEP was featured in the March 16 newsletter.  Click here to read full article.  Also, the monthly "Education Update" newsletter from Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, read by community leaders around the county, featured an article on CVEP's FAFSA Competition. "(CVEP) tackled a great project this winter.
