CVEP News

Dear CVEP Investor,

Happy New Year, please enjoy this week's newsletter.

What's new for 2011

Our new President and CEO, Tom Flavin has been busy setting blueprint related goals for this year and beyond.  The draft business plan is nearly complete and will be presented to the executive board for discussion at the January meeting.  Then it will be forwarded to the board of directors and investors for comments.   We are looking forward to a very successful year!

CVEP in the News....

Did you catch this week's featured articles?  To begin the year CVEP CEO Tom Flavin was featured as one of The Desert Sun's 11 People to Watch in 2011.  The article featured valley leaders whom are poised to write a new chapter for the Coachella Valley.

Another Desert Sun article Our Wish for 2011 featured COO Wesley Ahlgren and many of our Board Members and stakeholders offering their suggestions as to what would make 2011 a great year!

CVEP was also featured in this week's issue of The Public Record with an article on the European trade mission attended by Wes and Bob Hargreaves.   Please click on the links above to read the entire article.

Sending our Students to College

By completing the FAFSA application, college going students can determine their eligibility for federal student aid.  Currently only about 1/3 of the valleys graduating seniors are completing FAFSA.  Through Pathways to Success and partnering with the local school districts, we want to increase this amount by 20% in 2011!  The Coachella Valley has approximately 3,500 graduating high school seniors this year.  If we achieved our goal, this could mean between $500,000 to $1 million in additional funding going directly to our students and into our local colleges.  That's a pretty good ROI in our valley!

Pathways to Success will be hosting a fundraiser in February to raise money and awareness for FAFSA.  More details to follow.....
Thanks for reading and look for our newsletter next week!
Sincerely,

Wesley Ahlgren
