Greetings!

Thanksgiving has already come and gone and now there are just 20 shopping days till Christmas! In the midst of turkey, travel and talk, we hope you found some time to reflect on what you are thankful for and spent time thanking the One to whom we give thanks for all things.

Here's our list of 5 things that we are thankful for- campers who came to Christ for the first time, high quality staff who love Jesus, financial gifts from friends and alumni, volunteers on work weekends and during summer programs, and safety during storms.

Read on for details about some of these, other news from camp and camp friends, and information about 2012. Do you want to be a part of what God does through camp in 2012? Consider getting involved as a volunteer, donor, recruiter, sender, referring friend, camper, or prayer warrior.

And speaking of shopping days till Christmas... have you considered a gift certificate or something from the tuck shop
CEDARBROOK MISSIONARY UPDATE
Doris & Mack Graham

Doris & Mack Graham

A brief report from Doris & Mack Graham, serving with Wycliffe in Papua New Guinea.

Doris and Mack Graham continue their work in Papua New Guinea. Mack has been revising the translation of the book of Luke as well as writing a companion question and answer book. Doris is working with the children of the village. Doris writes, "For the children's Bible story time, I have added a gorgeous flannel graph set, a bright yellow mouse puppet, and some blackboard paint. Why paint? We want to cut up the boxes that carry our supplies and make slates! With these we aim to teach the young children how to read one new letter each week."

They dream of implementing other programs-for young men losing their way in marijuana, for women who must farm all day, for other folks besides the men who help with the translations. Popcorn night? Cup of tea? They don't know the details. Pray with them as they seek guidance. Mack and Doris write, "Thank you for each prayer invested in the lives of these special people."

Zoo Walkers

The early morning was beautiful. People registered and got busy with refreshments, face painting, and cup stacking while they waited for the start. Following Bean's lighthearted instruction and a group photo, off they went on the two-mile route through the Bronx Zoo. Sixty-six participants enjoyed the brisk air, sunny skies, and wooded paths of the zoo. Camp friends like Bean, Calli, Hudson, Jay, Kiska, Lewie, Rory, Tigger, Wally, and Wren were on the trail encouraging walkers. More than 50 people assembled for the buffet barbecue lunch, which featured a great songfest by Bean, Kiska, and Rory! Our walkers collected 134 pledges raising a total of $10,585.

Many thanks to the corporate sponsors that made this year's Zoo Walk a success: Alexon Group; Black Diamond Caterers; Bunk1; Group Imaging; Hiscock & Barclay; Icon Inc.; Kitchen Masters; MacKenzie Doors; Martell Home Builders, Inc.; Mr D's Tees; TD Insurance.

MEET CEDARBROOK VOLUNTEER
Tim Newton
Tim Newton and family
Tim Newton has been part of the Cedarbrook family since 1987 when he first attended a Father-Daughter Weekend with his daughter Kate. Two years later, daughter Ann came as well, and a long tradition had begun. After Kate and Ann were grown, Tim continued to attend Father/Daughter weekends as a surrogate dad with daughters of a deceased friend. By 1993, Tim had joined the Camp Board of Directors. He has served on the board ever since, except for mandated breaks.
Tim is also very passionate about art. He founded and is the curator
of "American Masters," a nationally-known annual art exhibition and
sale in New York City. He serves on the board of the Salmagundi Club
and The Artists' Fellowship, and is a frequent speaker and judge at art
events around the nation. Tim is co-owner of Kitchen Masters, a kitchen
remodeling company. He and wife Cathi live on Long Island and attend
Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City.

LOOKING AHEAD TO SUMMER 2012
Three-Tier Summer Pricing
NEW FOR 2012!

Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks has held its summer camp tuition fees at $460 for the last two years, even as inflation caused expenses to increase. In recent years, the total expense for one camper week at Camp Cedarbrook has exceeded $600. Therefore, every camper's experience at Camp Cedarbrook is made possible through camper tuition fees plus donations from churches and individuals.

To address these cost increases while recognizing that families have different economic resources, Camp Cedarbrook is implementing tiered rates for its summer camp tuition fees. Each family may select the tier that best fits their family income. A camper's experience is in no way affected by the tier chosen.

Summer Camp Tier A: $540 per week

Summer Camp Tier B: $500 per week

Summer Camp Tier C: $460 per week

While Tier A is closest to the true cost of camp, Camp Cedarbrook will continue to subsidize its total expenses through the contributions of our donors. This fee structure offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child's camp experience. The tier selected by a family will be kept confidential. There are no additional forms or qualifying information to provide.

Camper Scholarships  If additional financial assistance is needed, limited need-based scholarships are available to girls who attend one week only. Must register camper and pay $110 registration fee to secure week. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact us to request an application.

giftcertificatesGift Certificates  Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks gift certificates can be applied toward all camp fees-including Tuck Shop-and are available all year long in any amount.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION

Be an Early Bird and save! Act now and save $35 per week of camp (all tiers) when you register and pay in full by December 31, 2011. Online registration is available now.

REFER-A-FRIEND DISCOUNTS

By referring a friend, you and your friend can earn credit toward your camper tuition fees. Because our best advertising is done by our current Cedarbrook families, the Refer-A-Friend program is our way of saying "thank you" for spreading the word. The more friends you refer using this program, the more credit you earn. You could even attend camp this summer for free!

How to Refer a Friend:

1.            Give the promotional code REFCCA12 to friends and family who have never before sent a camper to a Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks program.

2.            Tell them to be sure to enter your full first and last name and the promotional code as the referring friend when they register their child for a summer camp session.

3.            They save $50 and you save $50.

wishlistPraise for Summer 2011 & Wish List
We praise God for many blessings of materials and volunteer labor during the 2011. Glidden provided the paint and all the tools to paint the floors in the Dining Hall, Rec Hall, and Staff Lounge. Another camp friend donated the funds to install new steel roofs on the Activity Building, Pine cabin, the Administrative Office cabin, and Wally's cabin. Still another generous friend donated a satellite system for the camp office internet system. Many items were donated from the Wish List, including a rowboat, a screened-in prayer gazebo, and six new picnic tables-thank you very much!

You can view our updated wish list at any time- it includes all sorts of items from large to small that are needed for summer 2012.
Wondering what you can give? Take a look at our wish list.
