Reflections on Camp Cedarbrook
BY BARBARA RYAN, Board President
In the early 70's, I came to camp for the first time as a Challenger counselor. It was not an easy summer and I learned so much about my relationship with the Lord and about myself. For the last 35 years, Cedarbrook has become my summer place to be.
Currently I serve as the President of the Board of Directors. It has been exciting to see so many changes throughout the years from the addition of the Activity Building, the stable, and two new cabins to the additions to the Dining Hall, Craft Porch, Tuck Shop, and the list goes on. New programs have extended our ministry outreach. Mother/Daughter and Father/Daughter Weekends, Camporee Weekends, Family Camp, Performing Arts Camp, and Equestrian Camp have all been succesful in reaching more people through the Christian camping ministry.
Camp Cedarbrook is more than buildings and programs. It is a ministry rooted in 45 years of commitment to reaching and discipling girls to accept Jesus as Savior, grow spiritually, and serve Him.
What will the next generation of girls experience at Camp Cedarbrook? Our vision will stay steadfast: to develop young women who are Godly role models to continue to reach future generations for Jesus. We will continue to add programs that align with our vision. We will seek creative ways to encourage more girls to come to camp each summer.
On behalf of the board, I thank the Lord for your prayer and financial support over the past 45 years. Will you pray with us as we seek to pursue our vision for Camp Cedarbrook for the next generation? These are exciting times!
Happy Anniversary, Camp Cedarbrook!

Sarah "Melodi" Rennells
CEDARBROOK MISSIONARY UPDATE

Melodi graduated CILT in 2001 and served on camp staff for the next three summers. She currently serves as coordinator of The Edge, a short-term missions program of Pioneers, a mission agency based in Orlando, Florida. Here Melodi tells about her work with missionaries in unreached people groups around the world.
After graduating college, I spent a summer in Southeast Asia on The Edge where I studied language and culture and served alongside long-term missionaries in that part of the world. It was an incredible summer of learning, ministry, personal growth, and seeing the power of God through answered prayer.
Since August 2005, I have been on staff with Pioneers, coordinating The Edge summer ministry. The Edge exists to mobilize and mentor this generation (our generation!) to follow Jesus passionately and discover their role in God's mission. We partner with experienced Pioneers missionaries who are church planting overseas to give students an idea of what long-term ministry could look like- learning another language, living with a host family, and discovering God's heart for the nations. We train teams before they go, coordinate logistics with our overseas partners, and debrief individuals about their experience when they return.
This past summer, The Edge sent 126 individuals on 34 teams to 27 countries! These teams interacted with 44 different unreached people groups. What is an unreached people group? It is a people group that has little or no access to the gospel, a place that is unable to reach its own people with the gospel.
I was especially encouraged as I visited Edge teams in the UK, Spain, England, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary, and Poland. Many cities in Poland do not have even one church that preaches the gospel. Poland is .2% evangelical. Please pray for more people to be called to go to Poland, and that there would be a gospel-centered church movement there.
Many thanks for your faithful partnership!

Lillian & Tom Frawley
MEET OUR CEDARBROOK VOLUNTEERS
Lillian and Tom Frawley thought Camp Cedarbrook sounded like a good place for their daughters. To learn more, they attended a work weekend with 10-year-old Sharon and baby Erin. They liked what they saw and enrolled Sharon, beginning a 30-year association. Sharon attended camp through high school and worked as a groom aide. Erin began camp as soon as she was old enough, attended every year, completed CILT, and worked on staff.
Tom and Lillian continued to volunteer each year, bringing their sons Tom and Shawn, as well as Sharon and Erin. They tackled many different pro jects over the years. Volunteering at camp changed their understanding of camp as they saw the planning and hard work of many that goes into maintaining the camp.
Tom and Lillian have two sons, four daughters, nine granddaughters, and two grandsons. Nearly all of the family has volunteered at camp- even their two daughters-in-law. Eight granddaughters have been blessed to attend camp so far, with the youngest anxiously awaiting her turn. Lillian values the way the counselors have shared their love of God with the girls, introducing Jesus by their example, their prayers and teaching. God is in the beautiful Adirondacks. This is why they continue to volunteer and why Lillian is honored to serve on the Camp Cedarbrook Board of Directors.
Tom is a retired licensed land surveyor. Lillian is a retired LPN, becoming a licensed nurse at age 54 after raising six children. They attend Grace Evangelical Free Church in Milton, New Jersey, near their home and formerly attended Bethlehem Church in Randolph, New Jersey.
Lillian invites all who read this to volunteer at camp in 2010. "Volunteer your time, your prayers, and your finances and see how the Lord is glorified by your presence. I am looking forward to seeing some new faces as well as familiar ones this spring."
