Summary: President Obama signed the Government Performance and Results Modernization Act of 2010 into law on Jan. 4, 2011. The law requires all agencies to designate a chief operating officer and a performance improvement officer to oversee efforts to improve management and performance. The law also requires agencies to publish performance reports on a public website.
