These photos were taken only an hour ago! We don't know the extent of the water damage and the storm is still raging outside. One minute it's calm and then next the wind is pushing the rain horizontally! This was taken from across Rt30 looking up at Lower Taylor Hill Rd and Homestead! That's over 200ft wide! Who knows what's left of the roadway?  This is a shot of the bridge in So. Londonderry just below the Londonderry Inn. There are reports that loose, floating propane tanks may have done major damage to the bridge.  To get any perception of just how much water this is . . . think about where the streams are! Easily 20 feet below what you see below! This is Homestead's lot and the front of the Library.  Aside from a "Holy Cow!" - we hope you're all well, safe and sound and that you've weathered the storm safely. If your plans include this part of the world in the next few days, we suggest you contact the local Highway patrols to avoid bridge and road outages and downed trees and power lines. |
