CONNECTIONS No! Kidding! Choir Newsletter |
|
,
We're nearing the end of 2009 and the first half of the NKC's 24th choir season! I am impressed by the hard work of the choir and their deliberate effort to bring their personal best with each performance. Our last engagement for LOVE INC was wonderful. But let us not forget that this wind of increased effort began this past summer with Vacation Bible School and the summer series of rehearsals for the Kids's awesome concert at the Oregon State Fair. We moved forward to perform at the Muddy Boot Festival and a performance at our first annual Gospel Brunch; all with a small contingent of choir members! Here we are with new faces in the choir and an excitement to be part of something wonderful. This is a witness of God's faithful blessings on the No! Kidding! Choir Ministry. I am extremely appreciative of the parent/guardians who make sure their NKC Kids are present at rehearsals, engagements, and special choir activities. Also, I would like to thank all parents who volunteer their time to donate snacks, help with carpooling, help clean the music center, chaperone, etc... Thank you! So, as we continue to move forward, please realize that there are many supporters of NKC that are praying for the ministry and directly for the children of NKC and you as parent/guardians. Be Blessed Janice Hopkins NKC Director |

20th Annual SHOWTIME Gospel Concert - FREE! |

No! Kidding! Choir headlines free Showtime Gospel Concert at Augustana Lutheran Church
We're moving forward! NKC is such an opportunity for children to experience the reading, writing, and arthematic of Salvation - the fundementals. The world is ever changing and God never changes. But how we communicate the gospel should change. Through our concerts we witness God's everlasting love to all people, and that His redemptive act of unfailing love can transform any life.
The children of NKC learn how to interact with each other regardless of the barriers that keep our world apart. This is translated in their performances. We want to share this witness with as many people possible. Therefore, our annual SHOWTIME GOSPEL CONCERT will be free, open to the public and suitable for all ages. Donations will be gladly accepted.
We are preparing a Showtime evening that will embrace and connect us! We're offering a silent auction as well as an off-the-hook concert. The silent auction will consist of a queen-sized quilt made by friends of NKC, themed gift baskets, and whatever else we can have donated.
Proceeds from this wonderful evening will pay for lodging for the Choir's trip to Washington, D.C. next spring. |

Cotton Fabric Needed for our Quilt
The quilt we'll make for the silent auction will be black, white, and a splash of spice (red). We're asking each NKC familyto donate 2 yards of 100% cotton that is either a solid color or a print. Take a look at the samples in the picture!
We would love to have the fabric before winter break, so we can get started on it now! If you can not, please give your fabric to Mrs. Hopkins by the 2nd week in January 2010.
