 Attention Middle Schoolers, ages 10-14! The Friday Night Live fun and games take place at The Lodge on November 11, 6-9 p.m. The whole night costs only $5 per person and features great sports, games, swimming, pizza and much more! Dodgeball Tournament November 19th!
 Get an adult team together and enjoy this classic grade school competition! This is a one-day, round-robin, adult, co-rec dodgeball tournament offered at The Lodge. A point system will determine which teams advance to the finals (4-match guarantee). Teams will consist of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 10 players. Become a Lifesaver!
 The Lodge offers Red Cross Lifeguard Training this December for ages 15 and up. This class teaches the duties and responsibilities of lifeguards to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, as well as procedures to carry them out in a professional manner. Certification includes: Waterpark Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Classes begin December 10. Have You Seen These Towels?!?
 The Lodge recently discovered that over the last year, 6,320 white towels have vanished from The Lodge - that's 527 towels per month or 18 per day! These towels are both young and old, big and small. According to a reliable source, the cost of towels for The Lodge has increased by 35% this year due to higher cotton prices and replacement of missing towels. The authorities are speculating that these missing towels may have gone on the black market. No one knows for sure, but these towels may be lost, kidnapped or simply runaways sneaking into guests' workout bags. If you have any information on the whereabouts of these towels, or if you have spotted a towel that snuck into your home, please return it immediately to a laundry basket at The Lodge Des Peres at 1050 Des Peres Road, 63131. REWARD: The Lodge has not increased membership and daily admission fees in a few years. This year, our towel costs have increased by 35%. Please help us keep our costs low, our service high and our Earth greener by returning towels after each use. Thank you! |
Winter Aqua Adventure Camp!
 Keep your kiddos occupied during winter break with Aqua Adventure Camp at the Indoor Pool. Campers will have a 45-minute swim lesson taught by our certified instructors, followed by snack, free swim at the indoor pool, games and activities with a new theme each day. The Value of Parks in Our Community!
 From the National Recreation and Park Association: "More than one-third of adults in this country are clinically obese and the statistics for children are just as grim-one third of American children are overweight and one in six is obese. Obese children are two to three times more likely to be hospitalized. It's an epidemic with complex aspects. Yet, it's clear that increased physical activity is an important part of the solution. Recognizing the importance of physical activity, First Lady Michelle Obama launched "Let's Move Outside," a campaign to combat childhood obesity and promote family health. The campaign helps families locate parks and plan physical activities. While exercise trends come and go, people tend to stick with physical activities that they enjoy most.
