Dutch Oven Cookin' Class October 27!
 Fall is a great time to cook outdoors! Join us for a Dutch Oven Cookin' class at Des Peres Park where you will learn meal planning, food preparation, cooking times and serving instructions. The program information can be used to fulfill criteria for the Boy Scouts of America Cooking Merit Badge. Scouts working toward the Cooking Merit Badge should contact their Merit Badge Counselor prior to the program for approval. E-Waste Recycling Event October 28!
 Electronics are the fastest-growing part of the world's trash problem, with an estimated 50 million computers becoming obsolete annually. Every day, mountains of e-waste, containing hazardous and toxic materials that pose significant environmental risks, are disposed of in landfills. Lodge Members, Des Peres Residents and Des Peres businesses are encouraged to bring your e-waste items to The Lodge parking lot on Friday, October 28, between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Items are $5 to recycle; CASH ONLY accepted by the vendor, EPC. Adult Dodgeball Begins November 3!
 Grab your headbands and put on your tube socks, it's time for Dodgeball--a surprisingly great cardio workout! Co-rec teams will be formed on-site and a referee will be available to go over rules with all players prior to the start of the game. Des Peres Meets the Challenge!
 The City of Des Peres has met the Missouri Children in Nature Challenge! "The Children in Nature Challenge recognizes communities and families who create opportunities for their children to get outside and discover nature firsthand. Why is this important? Children benefit physically, mentally, and even spiritually by reconnecting with nature; it helps them feel happier and healthier. Educating children about nature also helps foster a lifelong appreciation of the plants and animals that live around us, and can make children better future stewards of our precious natural resources."
