A New Way To Support The Arts
 | |
Arts Council Chair Sharon Fearey announces the launch of WeMakeArtHappen.com during a Feb. 17 press conference at CityArts.
|
The City of Wichita and The Arts Council are proud to announce the launch of WeMakeArtHappen.com, a website that is giving Wichitans a new way to fund local arts projects.
WeMakeArtHappen.com now makes it possible for anyone with an Internet connection and a love for art to get art projects off the ground. This website is a place where nonprofit arts organizations and individual artists will put their projects before the public and ask individual citizens to become project partners.
Residents are encouraged to visit the site, find art projects that speak to them and become project collaborators through small online donations. (View current projects and their progress here.) Gifts of as little as $10 can add up to fund entire projects.
Wichita's nonprofit arts organizations and local artists are also encouraged to sumbit projects for inclusion on WeMakeArtHappen.com. Four projects are currently listed for the Wichita Art Museum, CityArts, Old Cowtown Museum and the Mid-America All-Indian Center.
