Letters for Santa
Drop-off locations set up for kids to leave wish lists
The City of Wichita is teaming up with the North Pole to collect letters for Santa and give away early Christmas presents that include a ride on a Wichita fire truck and magazine photo shoot. Starting Nov. 27 through
Dec. 15, children ages 12 and under are invited to drop off their letters at CityArts, Old Cowtown Museum and the Mid-America All-Indian Center. Children who include a return address will also receive a response from Santa Claus himself!
All kids who participate will be automatically entered in a gift giveway. Two grand prize winners will be selected and three prize packs will be awarded. ... (read more) |

Workshops start after Thanksgiving
Anyone can buy a present at the mall. How about doing something special this year for the people on your holiday shopping list by hand-making your gifts at CityArts? Get complete workshop schedule and sign up online. Registration is going on now for an extensive lineup of Countdown to Christmas Workshops that are being offered at CityArts from Nov. 29 through Dec. 17.
Gift certificates available
A new session of art classes at CityArts starts in January. Gift certificates may be purchased now for any of the classes listed here. Online, in person and phone registrations begin week of Nov. 22.
Select a specific class as a gift for a family or friend or give them credit toward the class of their choice. No matter what, you'll be giving them the opportunity to explore their inner artist. There's no better way to start out the new year!

New book focuses on his life, art
The Mid-America All-Indian Center gift shop is the only retail location in Wichita to purchase the new book "Blackbear Bosin's 'Great Indian' in Wichita" by Margaret Williams Norton. This is the first and only book dedicated to the life and art of Bosin, who was a founding member of the Indian Center and creator of the iconic Keeper of the Plains statue. ...(read more)
Trail of Tears Memorial Walk Day tied to pivotal period in history  More than 400 people came out to the Indian Center on Nov. 6 to
paricipate in the annual Trail of Tears Memorial Walk.

Victorian Christmas
A must-attend event for families
Whether Christmas at Cowtown is an annual event for your family or a brand new adventure, there will be entertainment to evoke your sense of nostalgia and new events and activities for everyone to enjoy.
The Victorian Christmas celebration will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 3-4 and 10-11. Special Christmas dinner ticket packages are also available all nights.
