TUESDAY, JUNE 5th: VOTE, THEN JOIN THE PARTY (pun intended)
| | 7pm: Obama campaign and PHDC Election night will find us returning to the back room at Connecticut Yankee, throwing ideas around for the upcoming presidential campaign and other future Club activities, and generally hanging out. Featured speaker will be Kierith Jones, volunteer with Organizing For America and leader of its SoMa-Potrero Hill neighborhood team. We're bringing back the Idea Board & vote-by-dots: program ideas you all have suggested and then voted on by sticking dots on the board. We'll see how we're doing, and open it up to new input. We'll also use recent survey responses - so if you received a survey from us on May 23 and submitted it, thank you! If you didn't respond, or did not receive the email, please do take our survey. We care what you think. Click here to take the short survey. Thanks! A fond farewell to outgoing officers Political Action VP Emily Lowe and Web Master Rebecca Shearin. Emily leaves for Chicago any day now and Rebecca's ultimate destination is still to be determined. Best to you both, and thank you Rachel Schapira and Kate Gaidos Eppler respectively for stepping up as interim replacements. WHEN: Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 7pmWHERE: Connecticut Yankee, 100 Connecticut St @ 17th |

MAY 1st MEETING FOLLOWUP: CLEAN ENERGY, CLEAN AIR & WATER
|
| CleanPowerSF, SF Energy Cooperative, Food & Water Watch
Jason Fried spoke about CleanPowerSF, the City's custom-tailored community choice aggregation program (CCA) involving a collaboration of City agencies to develop a cleaner, more renewable energy alternative for residences and businesses. Eventually! Evan Wynns of San Francisco Energy Co-op described raising awareness of green energy among all city residents, especially renters, about benefits available to almost anyone: sustainable power, with monetary return on your investment. Adam Scow, an old friend of PHDC from Food & Water Watch, concluded the meeting with a rousing heads-up about water: a looming $50 billion pipeline to benefit Big Ag, and fracking going on right here in CA.
