Issue: #41  April 24, 2012
Greetings!

I hope you had a fine Earth Day. In keeping with the season's theme, PHDC's next meeting is all about the environment.

Joni Eisen, President

Potrero Hill Democratic Club

NEXT MEETING TUESDAY, MAY 1st, 7:00pm:
CLEAN ENERGY, CLEAN AIR & WATER

CleanPowerSF, SF Energy Cooperative,
Food & Water Watch

* Jason Fried, Senior Program Officer, SF Local Agency Formation Commission, will update us on the status of CleanPowerSF, last seen at PHDC in 2009. The City's custom-tailored community choice aggregation program (CCA) is the culmination of a collaboration of City agencies to develop a cleaner, more renewable energy alternative for residences and businesses.

* Evan Wynns, Executive Director of San Francisco Energy Co-op, will describe the new renewable power co-op aimed at raising awareness of green energy among all city residents, especially renters, about the benefits of green energy available to almost anyone: sustainable power, sustainable profits.

* Adam Scow, California Campaigns Director, Food & Water Watch and an old friend of PHDC, returns to talk about water: a bond on the November ballot (alas, it's back), a $50 billion pipeline to benefit Big Ag, and fracking going on right here in CA.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 1, 7:00pm

WHERE: Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, 953 De Haro St
