Our very own "Potrero Hill 94107" t-shirts, with the Club web site on the back, are now available at Kate's Closet on 18th St. between Texas & Missouri! Check out this new and interesting clothing shop.
SEPTEMBER 17th is INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP DAY - and the shoreline near you that needs help is Warm Water Cove (where 24th St ends at the Bay). PHDC members have volunteered here before; let's do it again. Help keep trash out of the Bay and ocean! 9:30 to noon, all equipment provided. You can sign up at one of the PHDC September meetings. Sponsored by GreenTrustSF. For more info, call 415-282-5516.
AUGUST 2nd PHDC MEETING FOLLOWUP. The speaker from SF Recreation & Parks duked it out with two environmentalists over the future of Sharp Park Golf Course. Members tabled a vote on the issue, needing more information. The Sierra Club and Wild Equity Institute, who are working on legislation to achieve their goals, have sent further information, which will be posted on our web site soon. Rec & Parks has not responded to the request for more information. If they do, I will put a link to that on our web site too.
Supervisor Malia Cohen unfortunately had a family emergency and did not appear at the meeting. A resolution in support of Representative Barbara Lee's Afghanistan withdrawal bill passed unanimously.

3rd ANNUAL MEMBERS PARTY & "SHOP LOCAL" SILENT AUCTION ANOTHER SUCCESS | | A huge THANK YOU to our fantastic and generous auction & party donors, local talent all (list above left)
On the afternoon of August 14th, members and guests gathered at a different venue - the wonderful Bottom of the Hill - to eat, drink, shmooze, listen to fantastic live jazz (new this year!), and bid on local goodies. The silent auction, which grew in size and variety since last year, raised over $1300 - a new record - to help us put on our programs throughout the year.
Also because of the generosity of our donors, and the bidders at the party, PHDC is again able to help sponsor this year's Potrero Hill Neighborhood Festival (coming October 15th). The Festival benefits the Neighborhood House, the beautiful and accommodating setting for our meetings since this club began in 2007.
For help with auction solicitation, party setup, check-in & checkout, and cleanup, heartfelt thanks to: Chuck Bennett, Hilary Cohen J.R. Eppler, Emily Lowe, Kasha Maznio, Monisha Mustapha, Rebecca Shearin, Steve Weber, and the staff at Bottom of the Hill.
