NOV 2nd: Get out the vote, then get out and party
 No PHDC meeting in November

Our regular first-Tuesday meeting night is Election Day. Our regular meeting spot will be a polling place that day. And, we hope, our members will all be busy getting out the vote. So - no meeting. Below is our list of endorsements, with links to the campaigns that can really use YOUR help. Then you can party with them!

POTRERO HILL DEMOCRATIC CLUB
Endorsements for NOVEMBER 2, 2010
An official endorsement by the Club requires 60% of votes cast. "No position" means that in that particular contest, no candidate (or Yes or No vote) reached the 60% threshold. In strongly contested races, there's a link to the campaign web site, so that you can learn more and find out how to help.

Coastal Cleanup Day, October meeting, precinct walking (MORE COMING), Potrero Hill Festival
Past month busy for PHDC - much thanks

Thank you, volunteers in the PHDC contingent who spent a Saturday morning in September picking up trash at Warm Water Cove to protect our precious Bay and ocean: Mary, Marc, Richard, Monisha plus two friends, Chuck, Joni, DeWitt, and JC.

PHDC's Oct 5th meeting, where we heard from some Club-endorsed candidates and measures, was quite informal, so we put chairs in a circle instead of the usual auditorium layout. This would not work for a more structured, crowded event, but this time it made for a more intimate meeting where you could see people's faces instead of the backs of their heads. There was some nice cross-pollination: campaigns sharing volunteers and helping each other out.

At the meeting, we introduced our very first PHDC endorsement door hanger, beautifully designed by Rebecca Shearin (see it actually hanging on a door [Linda Post photo], here). Thank you volunteers who walked the precincts of the Hill and Dogpatch to hang it: Chuck, Joan and her kids, Janet, Pat, Hilary, Jack, Patrick, Joni, J.R., Susan, Kate, Tonia, Monisha, Michael & George, Rebecca, and Camilla. We'll be precinct-walking again this weekend (Oct. 23-24), or soon thereafter if it rains. Please call 648-6740 or reply to this email if you can take a precinct. Here's a map of local precincts. #3006 through #3009 are already spoken for.

The Potrero Hill Festival on Saturday was one of the best ever, starting with the fabulous CA Culinary Academy New Orleans-themed brunch. Thank you volunteers Mary, Monisha, J.R., Bryan & friends, Rebecca and Rachel for staffing the PHDC table! T-shirts were sold, endorsements distributed, and the club got some good exposure.
