Greetings!

OCTOBER 6th MEETING FOLLOWUP
Mark LenoTom AmmianoElecteds and wannabe-electeds

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano
(left) and Senator Mark Leno drew a substantial crowd to the Nabe for our October meeting. Three more candidates for supervisor were the opening act: Dr. James Calloway, Kristine Enea, and Marie Franklin. Click here for photos and audio of presentations. (In August, candidates Malia Cohen, DeWitt Lacy, Steven Moss, Linda Richardson, Eric Smith and Diane Wesley Smith introduced themselves.)

Membership update: We have a total of 72 paid members for 2009, pretty good for a neighborhood club less than 3 years old.

Potrero Hill Festival
October 17th event a great successPH Festival 09

The return to 20th Street was the right move for this Hill tradition. During a fun day of sunshine, music, and neighborhood solidarity, we sold almost all our t-shirts (new order coming soon), registered voters and introduced some new people to our Club. Thanks to table volunteers Rachel, Dewitt, Pat, Ruth, Malia, Bonnie, Kasha, and t-shirt models Quint & Joni (pictured). Photo by Eric Smith.
Publicizing the Public Option

As a followup to our Club passing a Public Option health care resolution and forwarding it to our Congressional reps, Public Option Please, a creation of firedoglake, has sent us a slew of buttons and stickers, which we'll have at the next meeting. The battle - or rather, the compromise from single-payer - is not won yet.
