MARCH MEETING FOLLOWUP

Our first guest speaker was Laura Hahn of the Bay Area Sierra Club, on implementing Clean Power SF (also called Community Choice Aggregation). The LAFCo hearing a few days after the meeting unfortunately resulted in yet another delay. Then Ben Golvin of Equity Community Builders spoke and answered questions about plans to rebuild Potrero Terrace and Annex. There will be a Town Hall meeting on the subject March 23rd at the Nabe. Eleven people signed up for our early Earth Day cleanup with Save the Bay, April 11th at Mission Creek. Good show! I will be emailing those folks more info soon. If anyone else wants to participate, please rsvp. They only have room for four more volunteers. Membership update: We now have 66 members, 48 of whom have paid their dues for 2009. Please consider joining us this year. Thanks!

PHDC is co-sponsoring April 23rd event
Our friends at District 3 Democratic Club have invited us to co-sponsor State Senator Leno's appearance at Schroeder's. He will discuss SB 810, the single-payer health care bill (successor to termed-out Senator Sheila Kuehl's SB 840, which was endorsed by PHDC in September 2007) that he recently introduced in the state legislature. As always, check our calendar for updates on this and other events.
