Moonshine, Little Flowers & Party Ribbon New Colors Coming Soon!
We added two new colors of Moonshine officially for Fall 2012, but they are arriving early and will be available next month! Moonshine is a fashion yarn with an excellent balance of mohair and bling. We have added a rich, melt-in-your-mouth brown, #510 "Chocolate Truffle", and a gorgeous blue-and-turquoise mix, #512 "Deep Seas". Check out the Eyelet Panel Knit Scarf and other patterns for Moonshine inspiration.
New prints of Little Flowers and Party Ribbon will also be available in shops in May. (New solid colors of Party are due in a little later in summer.) Little Flowers is wonderful as a sparkly accent and really adds elegance and sophistication to a garment. Party Ribbon is silky smooth and great for evening wear and fancy accessories. Check your local or online shops next month for these dazzling new shades!

New FREE Patterns: TuTu, TuTu Lamé & more!
We have many new patterns up on the Web this month. TuTu Lamé arrived a couple of weeks ago, and already it is a popular seller! Now we have added our first TuTu Lamé pattern, with more on the way! The Ruffled Cowl is knitted in garter stitch with one ball each of Merino 5 and TuTu Lamé. Instructions on working with TuTu Lamé and Merino 5 together are noted in the pattern. This cowl is springy and fun and can really add pizazz to an outfit.
The Girl's Ruffled Skirt is a super-cute pattern made out of Cotton Twirl and regular TuTu. It features a slipped-stitch rib waist with eyelets and drawstring, a circular garter body with simple increases from waist to hip and darling bottom layers of TuTu ruffles. The skirt is sized from 4-10 years old. It uses three-to-four balls of Cotton Twirl and one ball of TuTu.
If you enjoy crochet, then you will enjoy the 1920's-Style Crocheted Cloche, done in Stitch Red color #1012 "Crimson" in Merino 5. Merino 5, made from 100% machine-washable merino wool, is both soft and durable, and excellent for garment shape and stitch definition. The cloche is worked in single crochet in the round, with carefully placed increases and decreases for a fashionable, retro look. The basic crocheted flower and button accent add the finishing touches to the hat. Be creative with your embellishments! Use Party Ribbon, Little Flowers or Fizz behind the flower for a "feather-like" look, or use a printed color of Mochi Plus or Merino 5 for the flower motif itself. Pair this with the Merino 5 Crocheted Fingerless Gloves for the ultimate stylish ensemble.
Spring is the season for Panda Cotton, and we have two very cute children's patterns for the warm weather. The Stripey Baby Hat and Stripey Kids Socks use three colors of Panda Cotton (shown in the new "Aquarium", "Mango" and "Orchid" colors). Both designs feature a left twist rib for added interest. The elastic component adds extra stretch and comfort. These make great, springtime gifts!
We have added the Smoky Cables-and-Lace Hat and Cables-and-Lace Fingerless Gloves patterns to match the Smoky Cables-and-Lace Cowl. Knitted at a slightly looser gauge than is typical for a fingering-weight yarn, Sausalito is an excellent choice for this soft and delicate set. The hat is cozy but airy enough for chilly spring evenings. The cowl is light and elegant. The fingerless gloves are stylish and quick to knit. This is an intermediate set and a great way to try lace.
We have two new scarf patterns in the upcoming Fall 2012 Mini Mochi and Mochi Plus colors. Eyelet Ease Scarf is a beautiful two-to-three ball lace scarf that looks gorgeous in Mini Mochi "Ice Strawberry". The eyelet pattern is just challenging enough to be interesting and enjoyable to work up and wear. The Long, Textured Scarf in Mochi Plus (pictured to the right) is fun and dramatic in the new "Drama" color way. It takes two balls to make this 3" x 100" scarf, long enough for multiple wraps around the neck. These new colors will be available in shops starting in mid-June.
