TuTu Lamé : New Yarn Available in April!
TuTu Lamé is new for Fall 2012, but it is arriving early! It should be hitting the yarn shop shelves by the end of April. TuTu has been so wildly popular that we decided to add this new version. TuTu Lamé has the same structure (railroad-ruffle), yardage (24 yds/50g) and non-wool fiber content as TuTu with the addition of either a gold or silver metallic edge. The metallic edge adds extra bling, giving it a beaded or dew-dropped look. The yarn comes in seven rich, solid colors to accentuate the glittery ruffle.
Check out free TuTu patterns for inspiration, and be sure to enter the TuTu Lamé drawing by April 2 for your chance to win this yummy yarn. See details in the Featured Article section in the left margin of the newsletter.

Lots of New FREE Patterns!
We have many new patterns recently added to the Free Patterns section of our Web site! First is the Chunky Mochi version of the Tri-Cornered Baby Hat. This hat knits up very quickly and is super sweet. It takes two balls to make and is rated Easy for the advanced beginner who wants to try his or her knitting hands at I-cords and the Kitchener Stitch. For a non-wool version, see the Cuddles Tri-Cornered Baby Hat.
Next, we have a new Cuddles Easy Baby Blanket pattern. Cuddles is a very soft and affordable yarn, which makes it is a superb choice for baby blankets. This design uses alternating bands of solid and printed Cuddles worked on an angle to create extra flexibility for wrapping around your little loved one. It takes just four-to-six balls of Cuddles to make and features garter stitch rows, with "kfb" increasing and "K2tog" decreasing to form the diagonal.
Aria and Kid Merino are a match made in yarn heaven, as is evident in the Color Stacks Cowl. This pattern is rated Easy. It is worked in the round in circular garter stitch. It uses one color of Aria and three colors of Kid Merino for subtle color changing, with two suggested striping patterns. Kid Merino is doubled and worked along with Aria for a seriously cozy neck warmer. If you like this yarn combo, you should also check out the Aria & Kid Merino Diagonal Scarf, and be on the lookout for more patterns using Aria and Kid Merino together soon!
Fancy up your next hat project with the "Sparkle Plenty" Hat. The pattern is knit with a combination of Merino 5 and Little Flowers. It is a lovely accessory that makes the most of these two Crystal Palace yarns. Merino 5 gives the hat body and warmth, while Little Flowers gives it sparkle and flair. The hat is done in a spiraled rib with a rolled edge. Purl rounds above the roll accentuate Little Flower's shimmery beauty.
The Mendocino Skinny Scarf is a great one-ball project. Mendocino is an absolute pleasure to knit. This scarf is worked lengthwise for sideways striping (and less turning!). It is worked in garter stitch with eyelet-row accent. One ball goes amazingly far; this scarf is approximately 2.5" wide and 56" long!
