COMMENTARY
Diane Schwartz
An Educated Workforce

According to the Census New Jersey is 40% diverse.  We are fortunate in this great diversity - one of the most diverse states in the country.

Our Pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries and institutions of higher learning are home to scientists, engineers and educators in a variety of disciplines and specialties.

We have demographics showing a diverse population of people from many countries bringing an immigrant's drive to succeed, passion for our culture and way of life, and entrepreneurial spirit for business opportunities. After all, the US economy is still the largest in the world despite the economic downturn.

The qualities of our workforce - highly educated, highly diverse - are strengths that employers can rely upon as they start, grow and conduct their businesses.

New Jersey has much of which to be proud - a diverse and highly educated workforce is high on that list.

"This program was extremely effective in raising awareness and understanding of the impact culture and diversity have on the delivery of healthcare."

" Should be mandatory training for all healthcare professionals."
