THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS
Thank you to so many people who gave money, time, preparation and cleaning help as we served over 250 Young Life volunteers and their leaders (twice!!!) this summer. Those who served seemed to get a lot out of the experience themselves. Be thinking whether you would like to help next summer.

SERVICE OF WHOLENESS & HEALING
On September 11th, we will have a "Service of Wholeness and Healing" during our regular Sunday morning worship. This special time will offer everyone in the congregation a time to pray for concerns in their own lives, to pray for friends and family members and to pray for situations in the community, our country and the world. For those who desire individual prayer, there will be elders and deacons available to pray with you after the close of the service. This is an opportunity for all of us as a church family to join our hearts and minds together in and through Christ Jesus as His followers, coming before God as individuals and as one body. |

SING AND PLAY! September brings not only school days but the return of Chancel Choir's and Jubilee Ringers' participation in worship. Rehearsals resume September 7. Jubilee Ringers rehearse on Wednesday evenings, 6-7:15pm and Chancel Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9pm. Now is an excellent time to join either group! If you've been considering participating in music ministry at Steel Lake, these are both excellent ways to be involved. You can even come and try out the groups for a few weeks to see if they're a good fit for you. Talk to Jeshua (music@steellake.org OR 206-947-5865) if you are interested or have any questions.

Sunday, November 27
SAM'S ALERT: November
November's event is "Inspecting Carol" a comedy. Here is a synopsis... Almost broke, the pathetic Soapbox Theatre Company is having a dickens of a time with their annual winter production of A Christmas Carol. Tiny Tim is a bit old and fat, Death keeps getting his chains tangled in the scenery, and there's an inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts expected any minute. When an inept new actor arrives, the stage is set for a major case of mistaken identity - with horrifying and hilarious results: the most hilarious and disastrous production of "A Christmas Carol" ever.
The date for the event is November 27, 2011. That is a Sunday and they have a special price of $7.00 for the 2pm show. This is a considerable savings. It is important that you sign up immediately if you plan to go. You do this by going to http://www.burienlittletheatre.org/. Then go to Inspecting Carol and click Buy Tickets. This will open the dates and you will see November 27. Click the date and the price of $7.00 will come up. (http://click4tix.com/events.php is an alternate way to go in and sign up).
Everyone will reserve their tickets and pay on line. If you do not wish to pay online then call the theatre and arrange an alternate means to pay (Burien Little Theatre at (206) 242-5180). Dinner will follow the play. Questions should be directed to Joan Allan 206-870-1194 or joankallan@comcast.net |
THANK YOU FROM A.A.

Recently, our AA contact person wanted to make sure that thanks were passed along saying that "the cookies that we have been receiving monthly have kept up the spirits of our group." |
