From Pastor Brent
"Living as God's people and joining in God's work"
What exactly does this mean? How would you explain this vision statement?
For the past several months the leadership of Steel Lake Presbyterian Church has been thinking about the mission, vision, values and goals of our church. We continue to wrestle with questions like:
- Who is God calling us to be as a congregation and what is God calling us to do? (Thinking especially of this particular group of people, at this particular time, in this particular place?)
- Who are we and who do we want to become?
- What ministries and programs are helping us move towards this future?
- Are any of our programs and ministries holding us back or using up valuable resources that can better be used elsewhere?
- Are we trying to do too much? Too little?
- What are the strengths of our ministry together and what challenges do we face?
- What is working well and what is not?
- Where are there opportunities to grow stronger?
- How can we best move forward together?
- What will help us take the next positive step towards this future?
To assist the leadership of Steel Lake Presbyterian Church to think and plan for our future, we would appreciate your input. A brief congregational survey is available online (as well as in the Narthex). We would like everyone to fill out the survey (preferably online). You can access the online version of the survey by clicking on the links above or by going to our website and clicking on the survey link on the right side of the homepage.
If you prefer to fill out a paper version of the survey, it will be available in the brochure rack in the narthex to the left of the elevator. Completed paper surveys can be placed in the appropriate mailbox labeled "Congregational Surveys" in the office hallway.
Thank-you for your help. The session greatly appreciates your time, input and candor and we all are looking forward to the exciting future we will share!
REV. BRENT ANDERSON
Pastor
