Artist Focus: Tom James
.. Nature Photographer

Tom James is a long time customer and friend at Hughes Water Gardens. This year we are proud to have used one of Tom's photographs for our 7th annual Waterlily Festival & Invitational Art Show poster.
Many of his photographs can be seen and will be available for puchase in our gallery during the festival.
Tom's Bio Growing up in the golden age of Tarzan movies and beside a future state park, I developed an early affinity for animals and the natural world. Mother's wash tub became a repository for salamanders, her bathtub a haven for seabirds with cataracts. In time I would come to breed wolves and endangered pythons, some of which remain on display in zoos even today. To this day, nature provides sanctuary and a sense of peace amidst the frailities of modern society, as seen through the filter of more than a quarter century in law enforcement... Tom James
