We live in a world that puts so much credence on proof...we spend time evaluating, dissecting and measuring everything we don't understand in order to find its meaning and truth.
"Seeing is believing"....in our world we believe what can be seen and disbelieve what we can't. We can see the body and the brain and because of that, we know it is real. However, we can't see the spiritual aspect of ourselves. This can't be taken apart or manipulated in a laboratory...so does that mean it doesn't exist or isn't real?
Just because we can't see spiritual energy doesn't mean we can't tap into it. Many of us have experienced our spirit in ways that may not be able to be explained. For example, giving birth to your child and witnessing that miracle or holding your adopted baby for the first time, finding your purpose in life and embracing it with exhilaration and joy, feeling a surge or sensation of strength or wellness throughout your body when you had none...all of these are examples of experiencing your spirit.
When we touch the spirit or core of who we are, we resonate with a wholeness...a feeling of peace washes over us. But it doesn't stop there...when we learn to integrate the mind, body, and spirit, we dance in a beautiful union of complexity. This means we know what it is to live in the physical body and enjoy all the senses of that experience, but at the same time we celebrate the spiritual influence. As deep as this sounds...it really isn't...we just don't talk about this because we haven't been conditioned to think in this way.
In my practice, most individuals I see are living in their head (also know as intellectualizing life) and are striving to touch a deeper part of themselves. I also see people that are living too much in the spiritual realm and need to be more grounded in the physical. The most beautiful way to experience this life on earth is to be integrated ....in the mind, body and spirit...this creates a fullness and completeness.
I encourage those of you that want more out of life to think about your spirit...the part of you that knows your greatness. What would your spirit say if it had a voice? How can you use this spiritual energy to compliment your mind and body? What is the job of your spirit...how does it fit in? The job of the spirit is to
REMIND you of what may be missing.
What is missing in your life?
