Power that is used for the wrong reasons can destroy nations, relationships, families, communities and even paralyze the world. In order to control the impact of negative power, we must first start by looking at ourselves. Begin by asking yourself... how do I see my power.....how do I use my power in different situations....when do I feel powerless.... when do I feel powerful and why?
There are many powerful men and women in our world that hold very lofty positions of status and make incredible amounts of money. These titles come with an immense amount of power, but this is only one facet of power. The kind of power I am talking about comes from within. This power isn't
man made, it doesn't
feed the ego or shine because of
accolades. It's not even of the physical body and has nothing to do with
strength, as we know it. This power can be
soft and strong at the same time....it sees
weakness as a
gift and uses those frailties as
beacons for learning....it can stand in the
face of danger or
chaos and be
steady with purpose and wisdom. This type of power is called
spiritual power.
So next time you are in a position of power, think about the myriad of ways you can use that power. Try to draw from your spiritual beauty and look at the real impact you can make if you tap into this type of energy. You have the opportunity to change the world, one person at a time, just by choosing to use your spiritual power versus your physical/egoic power!
