The Chakra System
What is it?
Chakra actually means wheel of light. The chakras represent the energy centers of our body. There are seven chakras throughout the human body and each one has a name, a color and a function in the body. The chakra system is like a blueprint that lies within our soul. Each chakra is a window into where we have been and where we have the potential to go, in relationship to our growth. Through the chakras energy and light, it shows us what work we have done physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. When we allow ourselves to open up to the information that our chakras hold, we increase our awareness of the human experience.
This month, I want to focus on the throat chakra. This chakra or energy center is located in the neck. Each chakra has a specific location in the body and is tied to a function in the body, a sense, an emotional quality and a color. The function of the throat chakra is speech and the sense is hearing. One of the emotional qualities is grief, while the color of this chakra is blue.
The most important thing I want you to learn about the throat chakra is how it relates to our communication. When this chakra is closed or not spinning properly, there is usually a direct correlation to a lack of vocalizing true feelings. This is the chakra that I see as being blocked most often in my work. Many people have difficulty expressing their deepest emotions and desires. For example, ask yourself these questions..... what is your personal message that you are communicating to the world everyday? ...... are you able to vocalize what you are truly feeling?.... are you speaking your truth?.... do you send mixed messages through your communication?.... do you feel that others don't understand what you are saying? These are all examples of issues that surround the throat chakra. You can ask yourself some of these questions and use them as tools to work on empowering your communication. When our throat chakra is open, we have a beautiful comfort in expressing who we really are; we connect with our deepest desires and bring them into our reality through our vocalization. |
