Good Morning!

United Community Bank celebrated a century of banking on Wednesday, June 15. From 4 to 8 p.m. people from throughout the community visited the bank's Perham branch for music, a pig roast, cake and ice cream, an inflatable bounce house for the kids, and hand-made commemorative crocks. ICBM's Marshall MacKay presented the bank with an American flag in honor of the milestone.

UCB 100 yr CelebrationThe threat of rain didn't stop nearly 1,000 people from attending. That included bank customer Emma Greiff, for whom century birthdays are pretty familiar. She celebrated hers four years ago! The bank presented her with commemorative crock #104.

In 1911, United Community Bank was chartered in Bertha and moved to Perham in 1934. The bank's Frazee branch was opened in late 1995, and a Dean's Country Market location was opened in 2007. Today the bank is largely run by the Cavanagh family, with Jack Cavanagh serving as chairman of the board; Charlie as president; and Bill and Bob both serving as vice presidents.

The bank understands the importance of community and how much it relies on community members for its success. It created this thank you ad to run, full-color in the local paper. Congratulations United Community Bank!

ICBM Member banker Jackie Herman was named a Rising Star in NorthWestern Financial Review's 2011 Rising Stars in Banking program. Ms. Herman serves as a SVP/CFO and Director of Operations for Flagship Bank where she recently celebrated her one year anniversary on June 14. She began her career in her hometown at Atwater State Bank.

The NorthWestern Financial Review has a brief write-up of Herman's honors on its blog. The full article is in the current print edition. Congratulations Jackie!
