Zoning Commission

Dear Neighbor,
Giants Neck Beach has the it's own Zoning Regulations which promote a community that is safe, healthy, and organized. While regulations limit what we may or may not be able to do with our property, the intention is to protect everyone against construction or activities that may negatively affect our properties. Furthermore, our Zoning takes into consideration the size and limitations of land within our special beach community, more so than those of the Town of East Lyme. Our Zoning Commission presently has two (2) vacancies for the upcoming '12-'13 year. To maintain the right and privilege of Zoning Regulations specific to our community, it is critical to fill these vacancies.

Members
The Zoning Commission consists of 5 members and 3 alternates, annually appointed by the President and approved by the Governing Board. A quorum of the Zoning Commission is 3 members. The Commission members for the upcoming year are:

- Karen Beebe
- Jeff Scull
- Vacant

- Rich Corona, Alternate
- Ken Hotarek, Alternate
- Alan Pease, Alternate

Meetings
Meetings are currently planned for the second Monday of each month; however, meetings are only actually convened if there is an application for review. During the 2011 calendar year there were only 5 meetings; whereas, there have been 3 meetings thus far in 2012.
