New Recyling Program First pick-up of our new recycling containers happened today, Wednesday, May 26th. Going forward pick-up will be the same day as trash; however, recyclables will be every other week while trash will be collected weekly. The recycling schedule is posted on the website for quick reference.
Thanks to all our "good" neighbors who took in cans left in front of neighbors' homes who are not currently in residence!
Holiday Schedule
Following a Monday holiday, GNB collection is still scheduled to be picked up on Wednesdays, although it may be later in the day.
Leaf Collection Schedule
Collection of leaves will be conducted:
- Week of June 7, 2010
- Week of July 12, 2010
All leaves put out for collection must be in paper bags. Bags can be obtained at the Engineering Department in Town Hall between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and at the Transfer Station which is open 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The charge is $.50 per bag. Any other paper bags are also acceptable.
Leaves can still be brought to the designated area at the transfer station, however, plastic bags must be emptied. Home composting and home recycling of leaves are encouraged as environmentally desirable alternatives.
