Volunteers Needed for Planting
Save the Sound is organizing an upcoming volunteer opportunity to plant dune grass and other native plants and shrubs at Rocky Neck State Park on Saturday, April 10th. The planting is one of the final stages of the Bride Brook Restoration Project, which replaced a failing culvert on Connecticut's second largest herring run.
Volunteers will be gathering at 10 AM at Rocky Neck's Eastern Bathhouse Pavilion. Refreshments and some tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own shovels if possible, as a large turnout is expected. This will be a rain or shine event.
