Help keep our shoreline beautiful and pristine!
Are you opposed to the construction of a 170 foot cellular tower at the end of Brainard Road?
If so, please join us on Monday January 4, 2010 from 6:30-8:30pm at East Lyme Community Center (in the conference room behind the Parks and Rec. desk)
The purpose of this meeting will be to organize a cohesive group of people committed to moving forward in opposition to the proposed construction of the telecommunications tower at the end of Brainard Road. The official application has been filed with the Connecticut Siting Council and a strict timeline is already in place.
The agenda for our meeting on January 4th is as follows:
- Overview of the Siting Council Process and timeline regarding cellular towers.
- Update from our local legislators and town officials regarding their status in regards to opposing the tower
- Discussion on whether or not we (as a community) will need to hire legal representation in this process
- Identification of a core group of people who will act as our neighborhood leaders.
