A Summary of the 4/18/12 Rye City School District Board of Education Meeting

 
Budget Discussion and Adoption

Superintendent Dr. Shine and Assistant Superintendent for Business Mrs. Ryan led a presentation outlining the proposed 2012-13 budget. After hearing comments from the public and discussing details of the budget, the Board unanimously adopted the proposed 2012-13 budget of $73,580,000.

 

Key facts about the budget are as follows:

 

  • Tax levy cap compliant
  • Maintains courses, activities, and class sizes
  • Addresses facility work including MS/HS locker room renovations
  • Budget-to-budget increase of 2.33%
  • Tax Levy Increase of 1.94% (Calculated Tax Levy Limit is 1.96%)
  • Estimated Tax Rate Increase of 1.75%
