DEMA HighlightsNovember 13, 2011
Greetings!

Jellyfish Lake, Palau
Jellyfish Lake in Palau is populated by millions of jellyfish with NO stinging tentacles.

Snorkel Jellyfish Lake October 2013 with
HydroSports .

Your goals and dreams are the focus of the team at HydroSports. We go to work every day looking for tools, information and services that will make your diving experience more fulfilling.

At the DEMA show last week, I wore out a pair of shoes and my voice asking questions, picking up literature, gathering information and making plans that will increase the tools you can access at HydroSports. Those who attended the Club Meeting Wednesday night, heard about many of the highlights of the show.

You'll find bright lights, sweet safety tools, travel BCDs, new PADI training programs and much, much more starting to arrive next week in Keizer.

Let us help you reach your diving goals and dreams! Visit or call soon!

Sincerely,

Travel News
Some of the biggest news from the DEMA Show is HydroSports appointment as a partner with the Aggressor Fleet and Dancer Fleet of liveaboard dive charters. For those who have not experienced the convenience and ease of liveaboard diving imagine a floating five-star hotel that happens to move from one outstanding dive site to the next while providing all your creature comforts, warm towels as you exit the water from each dive, all your onboard meals and beverages, expert dive guides and excursions to exotic destinations during your stay aboard.

As part of our first two Dancer Fleet trips special prices and early booking discounts are available. Be one of the first five to book on either trip by November 20 to take advantage of these savings.

Caribe Dancer
Caribe Dancer, 100 feet long, 14 guests,
6 crew, Bahamas adventure unlimited!
Our first Dancer Fleet excursion begins October 6, 2012 as we board the Caribe Dancer in Nassau, Bahamas. We explore the pristine waters of this island chain that separates the Atlantic from the Caribbean. Sea fans and barrel sponges the size of telephone booths, schools of Atlantic Spadefish and opportunities to observe hammerhead sharks are some of my fondest memories of diving these waters. Click HERE to learn more about our Caribe Dancer excursion.

Our second Dancer Fleet excursion begins a year later, October 13, 2013 as we board the Tropic Dancer in Koror, the capital of Palau. Located in the
triangle of the world's greatest marine biodiversity, new species are being discovered continuously in the waters of Palau. Palau was one of Cousteau's favorite regions.

Tropic Dancer Palau
Tropic Dancer, 112 feet long, 31 feet wide;
18 guests, 8 crew, Palau adventure unlimited.
At Blue Corner you'll be greeted by gray reef and white tip sharks, Napoleon Wrasse, spotted eagle rays, schooling jacks and barracuda, trigger fish and more. Look for manta rays, octopuses, nudibranchs, garden eels and maybe even a leopard shark when diving in German Channel. Remnants of WWII are still visible throughout Palau today, including many ship and plane wrecks resting at the bottom of Palau's inner lagoon. Click HERE to learn more about our Tropic Dancer excursion.

In addition to these hosted trips, HydroSports, as a Aggressor/Dancer representative, can organize and book individual or group trips on all of the Aggressor/Dancer Fleet vessels. Come visit us today to learn more.

Training and Diving Update
One of my meetings at the DEMA Show in Orlando last week was with Don Kinney, owner of the Yellow House. We looked our use of the house over the past 12 years (prior to Dan and Sandy purchasing the house) and into my crystal ball for next year's training needs.

At HydroSports current rate of certifications we will almost triple our open water diver certifications and more than double our continuing education certifications this year over 2010. With our planned 2012 shop classes, our partners at Albany Scuba and our training needs for programs at Willamette University and Western Oregon University I've reserved 25 weekends at the Yellow House next year.

In addition to training weekends, we're planning more regional fun dives in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Our divemaster team is growing and will be guiding plenty of one day and weekend dives next year.

Ken Rymal, PADI IDC Staff Instructor, is completing his PADI Technical Instructor Crossover and willPADI TechRec Logo begin teaching a wide range of PADI technical and rebreather courses very soon. Ken's technical diving background rivals that of any technical diver in the Pacific Northwest. His attention to detail, thorough and patient training style and passion for sharing the underwater world combine to make him an excellent choice for those wanting to extend their dive training and skills beyond the recreational limits.

Watch for news of our plans to dive the Oregon Coast, Oregon Cascades, San Juan Islands, Edmonds Underwater Park, Keystone Jetty, Neah Bay, Vancouver Island, US Virgin Islands, Sea of Cortez, the Bahamas, Palau and many other destinations over the next few months and the next few years.

What does this mean for you? More opportunities to dive, more sites to dive, more boats from which to dive, more opportunities to share your passion with non-diving friends and family members. Stay tuned as 2012 rolls out. Let us help you reach your diving goals and dreams in 2012.

Greetings!
