The Blue-footed Booby is a resident of the Galapagos Islands. |
After three years of planning, countless emails, phone calls and hours of research, HydroSports has arrived in Quito, Ecuador, our overnight stop on our way to the Galapagos Islands. We spent the day walking around Old Town Quito visiting huge cathedrals built in the early 1500's. We were serenaded by Latin music at Independence Square and by traditional Andean music in a church courtyard.
Tomorrow we fly to San Cristobal and board the Humboldt Explorer, a brand new vessel launched in June 2010. We do a check out dive then depart for islands north.
Our goals are to dive with schooling hammerheads, whale sharks, manta and eagle rays, Galapagos Penguins and more.
