Season's Greetings

Wishing you...

the perfection of generosity

Domo Geshe Rinpoche with hands foldedTraditionally, the western Holiday Season is a time when we think of generosity. How fitting that generosity is one of the six perfections accepted by Vajrayana (including Tibetan) Buddhists. The perfection of generosity includes generosity with the dharma, and our precious teacher is very generous with the individual attention that each student receives, and in her bestowal of the living dharma.

Our opportunities to practice generosity

1. Share the dharma with friends and family. Regardless of beliefs or religion, dharma teachings apply to everyone. Compassionate Speech, Cultivating Joy, Overcoming Worry and Being Alive, are a few of the topics that teach those we love to cultivate greater happiness. Most of these teachings are available in  DVD, CD and/or MP3 formats.

3. The generosity of donating: As we discussed generosity and the needs of others with Rinpoche yesterday, she reminded us of needs within our community.

a. Rinpoche's travels are increasing and this requires financial support. White Conch covers the travel costs and provides free conference call access to many teachings live. White Conch has also established a scholarship fund to cover the costs of retreats for those in financial need. A donation to White Conch is tax deductible in the US. You can donate via PayPal or via check.

b. Consider donating to the Grand Transitions Hospice Fund. Our hospice training program has started, but we still plan to purchase land for a home where care can be provided at the end of life.  This is also tax deductible. Identify "Hospice" in your donation.

cOzer leads laughter yoga. One of our community members, Ozer, is facing high medical expenses. At a time when Ozer and her family need to focus their energy on healing, financial concerns are an unnecessary drain. A special account has been established for those who wish to help alleviate this burden. Donations may be made directly to:

M&I Bank
7000 W Greenfield Ave,
West Allis, WI 53214
please make checks out to the

"Ann-Marie Clark Cancer Benefit Fund"
Account No. 46028983

While this is not a tax deductible donation, it has been set up so that donations to it do not become a tax liability for Jim & Ozer. The merit of donating is, of course, priceless.

d. Joyful Path Healing Center welcomes donations to support their mission. At this time, donations are not tax deductible. Donations can be made directly to Joyful Path.

All the best to you and your family
