Environment
+ Community Shares started serving local environmental causes way before it was hip to go green! Western Colorado Congress started their partnership with Community Shares in 1990. We're glad to continue our relationship with WCC today!
+ Our member agencies who work for our beloved Colorado landscape engage the community in
environmental stewardship, preserve open land and spaces, promote
sustainable
use of resources, and conserve the quality of our outdoors through
teaching
responsible practices.

+ Our member agencies provide safe shelter, medical
and social rehabilitation, stimulating habitat, and positive placement for
companions and wild animals in Colorado.

+ Starting as The Alternative Fund in 1986, Community Shares was one of the first giving funds in the nation to include inclusiveness as a service area in workplace giving and beyond!
+All Community Shares nonprofits envision a more inclusive and
equitable Colorado, and these particular organizations work for broader access to social and economic opportunity, equal recognition of civil,
legal, and human rights, and respect for all Coloradans.
