Jason MankeDear Friends,

Each year Community Shares connects thousands of people to the charities and causes they care about most. One of the most fun, and surely the most accessible ways that you can get more involved in our community giving fund is through the social media networks we participate in.

From trends in local philanthropy to opportunities with our family of member nonprofits, engaging yourself in our many online opportunities is a great way to keep up with the good work that is happening right here at home.

Social media websites allow you to find interesting information as it is happening.  Even better, "social" media enables you to share your findings with the click of a button.  This capability makes it easy for you to tell those closest to you about your favorite charities and causes.

Take a few minutes to browse below and see if there are any opportunities that make sending and receiving community information easier or more fun!

Happy summer!

Jason Manke
Communications Manager, Community Shares

P.S. Member nonprofit, Rocky Mountain Art Association has put together an award winning show titled: The Wild Party. A portion of the proceeds benefit Community Shares and shows run throughout August. Details below.

My Colorado ProjectMy Colorado Project
Have you heard the term "giving circle" yet? If you haven't, you will because it is one of the fastest growing trends in philanthropy. A giving circle is a group of individuals who combine their money, time, and talent to show support for the causes they believe in most.

At mycoloradoproject.org, you can create your own giving circle, select up to four nonprofit recipients, and invite your family and friends to get involved by giving as little as $5 each month.

My Colorado Project is about you and the local issues outside your door. This Community Shares built program connects you to the heart of our community: choice in giving, accessible giving options for everyone, and local decision making.

Start or join a giving circle, browse the cause channels, or see what's happening with your favorite nonprofit today! Start by taking a cool DIP!

TwitterTwitter
Okay, I admit it.  The notion of keeping up with friends as they post updates all day sounded nauseating to me at first, but I totally misunderstood to benefits of this website!

Twitter is by far my favorite (and most used) social media website. Here you can get information as it is happening about Community Shares, our members, and our extended family of Colorado's most influential change-makers.  If you see good work in our community and want to tell thousands of people about it, tweet it! You can find us here.

FacebookFacebook
Facebook passed the 500 million user mark last week.  It is the undisputed champion of social networking and a pretty good way to stay in touch with others.  If you have a Facebook page, please check us outWe post interesting updates and events regularly, and you can comment and share with friends easily.

The Wild PartyThe Wild Party

If you love the musicals Chicago and Cabaret you will love The Wild Party. Gravity Defied Theatre is presenting the regional premiere of this award-winning show in August, and a portions of the proceeds will benefit Community Shares. For tickets, visit: www.rmarts.org.

The Wild Party takes place in a New York apartment where two vaudeville performers (Queenie & Burrs) decide to throw a party to end all parties, but the party spirals into a story of destructive love and new beginnings. This Jazz/Rock musical is something you have never seen before, and is for mature audiences only.  Tickets to this edgy performance are available at www.rmarts.org, or you can contact Mary Snydersat 303.861.7507 with questions.
