 We Love the Beach!
We are here to help with beach sports equipment and amenities that keep our San Diego beaches clean, beautiful and easily accessible to us and our visitors.
Here is an update on what we know.
Basketball project has stalled.... only in the sense of timing. Parks & Rec has a quiet (no construction) time from Memorial Day until Labor Day, so we will proceed with this project after Labor Day. We learn something new every day. We have raised $2885 out of the $3885 that we need and will look to our membership donations and our July 25th King & Queen Beach Volleyball Fundraiser as a way to raise the rest of the money.
Calling All Professional Artists! The police department has purchased new storage containers to be placed at Belmont park. To prevent graffiti and tagging, Mission Beach Women's Club has coordinated painting all utility boxes and would like a group of professional artist to team up and paint this storage container. Please fill out the application and provide a rough sketch with a beach-themed design. Because of the size, we really need "expert" artists, who can do something this big and do it in a professional manner. See OUR PROJECTS for more information.

King & Queen Beach Volleyball Fundraiser

 Who's Your King & Queen?
Who: San Diego BIG presents the 1st Annual
King & Queen Beach Volleyball Fundraiser.
When: July 25th, 2009
9 am - 5 pm
Where: Mariner's Point, San Diego, CA
What: Men and women will play for their crowns in 3 divisions for cash & prizes - The Royal Court is for AVP Professionals (Cash), The Warrior's Realm will exhibit the competitive volleyball player (Prizes) and the Duke's & Duchess's Domain will be host to social players (Prizes). Lunch will be provided for participants and we invite all your friends, family and fans to come and root for their King and Queen, and have their own competition over our silent auction items.
Price: $30 (Pro Division)/$25 per player and guest lunches are $7/ea. Registration forms are available at our web site. or
