A Queen & King of the Beach volleyball exhibition, thanks to Wahoo's Fish Tacos, kicked off our Summer Social Fundraiser at WaveHouse in Mission Beach. Mike Myrdal's band, Stepping Feet, started their musical exhibition of Dave Matthews songs at 7 and the doors were open. WaveHouse managers Amanda Morey & Inez Wells did a great job in getting staff and tables ready. With a beautiful sunset, great location, fun music and awesome sponsors the stage was set.

Everyone that came enjoyed the festivities, danced and cheered as their raffle numbers were called out. San Diego BIG celebrated by giving out and selling t-shirts (now available on-line). We have a few great silent auction items left, so bid on your favorite today!

San Diego SIX-MAN BeachFest & Volleyball Championships - Saturday, Oct 4th, 2008. The festivities will kick off Friday night at The Beachcomber and The Pennant with a Pre-Party gathering. Check-in is at 8:30 AM Saturday morning for the volleyball action. With new sponsors like CVBA, Bud Light, Sophie 103.7 Radio and Arrowhead this event promises great fun with six-on-six volleyball teams dressed creatively and showing us their talents. Local pros like Pat Powers, Jud Buechler, Steve Sammons and many more have shown up in previous years.

Divisions include Men's & Women's Open, A and Masters, plus coed for Corporate & College. This is an event that welcomes all ages and abilities. Check out photos from '07 & '08 and our new home page.

Meetings may be attended by anyone interested in our projects. We are focusing on projects in South Mission Beach like maintaining the volleyball and basketball courts, bike racks, drinking fountains, recycling and improving the bathrooms/comfort station. They will be held at Gabbiano's Pizza every 1st Wednesday of the Month - Our next meeting will be Sep. 3rd.
