FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BALLET WEST TO HOLD 24TH ANNUAL PARTNERS IN DANCE
One-night-only event offers way to entertain clients while supporting a good cause
SALT LAKE CITY - January 12, 2011 - On Thursday, February 10, Ballet West and the Ballet West Ambassadors will host the 24th annual "Partners In Dance"event to raise funds and bring about awareness for Ballet West's education and outreach programs. The event is also an opportunity to recognize the business community that so generously supports Ballet West.
During Ballet West's "Partners In Dance,"guests will enjoy a pre-performance dinner and silent auction, followed by a private, final dress rehearsal of one of Ballet West's most popular offerings - The Sleeping Beauty - in perfect time for Valentine's Day. Newly conceived and produced by Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute, this timeless tale of a sleeping princess, a handsome prince, and the triumph of good over evil is set to Tchaikovsky's soaring music with spectacular sets and costumes designed by Peter Cazalet.
The event will also include the 3rd annual Shoe-in program, a juried art competition featuring twelve Utah artists who have created works inspired by ballet point shoes. Using gems, wood, beadwork, twisted metal and more, local Utah artists have transformed ordinary satin pointe shoes into stunning works of art - one-of-a-kind creations that will be available for purchas that evening.
The pre-performance dinner will take place at the Hilton Salt Lake City, 255 South West Temple, followed by the final dress rehearsal of The Sleeping Beauty at the Capitol Theatre, 50 West 200 South. All proceeds from "Partners In Dance" benefit Ballet West's arts education initiatives in Utah.
Individual event tickets are available for $75 per person. Event sponsorships are also available. For more information, visit www.balletwest.org or call (801) 323-6964.
