Artist John Bell's work catches the eye of Guggenheim Hermitage Museum Director for an exhibition at Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art in Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
Salt Lake City, Utah - May 7, 2009; John Bell's "Einstein's Dreams, #3" (pictured below) painting will be part of a group exhibition during  the "Spring Art Affair" at The Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art  in Las Vegas. The museum's "Spring Art Affair" is a regional juried competition open to artists in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Bell's painting was chosen from over 100 entries by juror Elizabeth Herridge, Managing Director of the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Las Vegas. Ms. Herridge will award "Best of Show" as well as six other prizes to exhibiting artists during the exhibition preview and artist reception on Friday May 8, 2009; 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The exhibition runs through June 10, 2009.
 
Bell's "Einstein's Dreams" series of paintings are in part inspired by a book of the same name by Alan Lightman. The author bases several short stories on Einstein's notion that time is circular and is constantly repeating itself -- sometimes exactly the same, other times slightly or completely different, based on our individual decisions -- and all these moments in time may exist in a parallel space. "Based on an abstract understanding of this", explains Bell. "I simply asked the question; what might this look like as a painting -- if you could look through time and space and see clusters of random moments all at once".
 
Mr. Bell is represented by Brett Wesley Gallery in Las Vegas. His work has been placed in many private collections throughout Utah and the U.S. Hailed as "An artist on the Rise" by Salt Lake Magazine; Bell  has exhibited in over twenty-five solo and group exhibitions in the past five years, including Art Basel in Miami, Los Angeles, and a solo exhibition and mural commission at New York's Time Warner Center.
