Cultural Arts Night Student Talent Showcased at Hartford Stage

Our annual Cultural Arts Night event is an important one for us as a school, as it is an opportunity to showcase our students, their personal talents, and HHNE's Student Activities Program as a whole. The students worked long and hard for this evening and they were very excited to shine.
The event, which took place at Hartford Stage, started off with a reception, where guests were treated to hors d'oeuvres and desserts made by HHNE's Culinary Arts Club, under the direction of Mrs. Dorit Kanik. As they ate, attendees browsed a display of artwork created by HHNE students under the guidance of art teacher Mrs. Nina Salazar.
After the reception, guests filed into the theatre for the main event. HHNE students Josh Goldberg, Revital Pollack, Elisha Lifshutz, and Ronen Wesley wowed the crowd with their musical ability. The students performed pieces on the keyboard and guitar; some even showcased original compositions!
The feature presentation was a production of the play, Anon(ymous), written by Naomi Iizuka. The show was phenomenal. From clever stage design, to colorful costumes, to the students' acting ability, the performance was an impressive sight. Guided by director Alexandra Truppi and student director Amy Zablotsky, the students put on a show we won't soon forget!

Senior Trip
Class of 2012 Adventures to Vermont
Our seniors worked hard during this challenging year and we felt strongly about giving them the opportunity to have a senior trip, a culminating experience that ends their year (and their high school career) on a positive note.
This year we planned a short trip to Vermont. This is a trip that, with the tremendous help and support of Michael Black, we have run successfully three times in the past. The seniors were excited about such a fantastic sendoff after four years of high school. The trip included such activities as kayaking, paintball, a visit to Ben & Jerry's, and much more!
Both Rabbi Daniel Loew and Rabbi Shimmy Trencher attended as chaperones, and were pleased with the opportunity to spend more time with the Class of 2012 before they graduated.

Graduation Congratulations to the Class of 2012!

During the graduation ceremony, each senior gave a speech, displaying their unique personalities and perspectives. It was amazing to see how much each of them has grown as an individual and we already miss them dearly.

HHNE's Big Bang Event! 2012 Annual Scholarship Event
Actress Mayim Bialik, who stars as Amy Farrah Fowler in the CBS hit series "The Big Bang Theory" was the keynote speaker for HHNE's annual scholarship event, which took place the evening of June 21, 2012 at Beth El Temple in West Hartford. At the "Big Bang" event, the Zachs family was honored for their five generations of charitable giving and Barbara Zalesch was presented the President's Award for Outstanding Service to the School. A delicious dessert reception followed the program.
The event was a smashing success on all levels. Everyone had a wonderful time, money was raised for an important cause, and the event gave HHNE valuable time in the public eye.

We would like to thank everyone who sponsored and attended the event. All proceeds benefit our scholarship fund, which helps students attend HHNE. We also give our thanks to the event committee, which organized the beautiful evening under co-chairs Loren Gelber and Ann Pava.
