Arizona Bowhunters Association.

Desert Christian Archers President, David Myrick, accepts the Walt Collins Award from Carl Schottel, current State Chairman of the Arizona Bowhunters Association
The Walt Collins Award was created in
2002 after the death of Walt Collins. Walt had been involved with the
Arizona Bowhunters Association for many years and served as a very
dedicated and effective Game and Fish Liaison prior to his sudden
death. Much of the bow hunting opportunity that we enjoy today is
because of efforts put forth by Walt and the ABA. He developed a great
working relationship with the Game and Fish Department that the Arizona
Bowhunters Association has worked hard to maintain since Walt's passing.
The "Walt Collins Award" is
presented annually to a individual or organization that has exemplified
what Walt stood for; working tirelessly so that others might benefit
from what you are able to give back to the archery and hunting
community.
Desert Christian Archers humbly
accepts this award and thanks the Arizona Bowhunters Association for
this recognition.
Previous recipients of this
award were: 2003 Bill Larson (for his work with hunter
education), 2004 Tice Supplee (retired Big Game Branch
Chief AZ G&F Dept), 2005 Jim David (actvist from
Flagstaff AZ), 2006 Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club, 2007
Terry Petko (Hunt of a Lifetime), 2008 Lance Altherr
(Hunters Who Care), 2009 Steve Clark ( Arizona Elk
Society and other non-profits)
