TASTING

TODAY!

Thursday, Aug 11

5.30PM - 8PM

Noble Hill

The Noble Hill wines went over so well when we had our first in-store tasting that we decided to have them back again.

Come and taste some great South African wines poured by the only Harvard-educated South African winemaker we've ever met. If there are more out there, please let us know!

Introducing:

MYSTERY BOTTLE BAGS

Everyone loves a surprise.
And everyone loves a bargain.
Our Mystery Bottle Bags combine both.

mystery bottle bagsGive us a $20 dollar bill (that includes tax) and we'll give you a bottle of something you're probably not expecting. It's soft of like Las Vegas in a bag - sometimes you'll wine a little, sometimes you'll lose a little - and sometimes you'll hit the jackpot!

(On average, you'll save around $3.87/bottle, because yes, we've actually done the math.)

Each bottle includes a brief tasting not so you'll know what you're about to open. We'll also let you know the bottle's original price - so you'll know just how well you fared in our version of wine roulette.

And feel free to go nuts and pick up multiples - we have a secret code to avoid repeat bottles. (Buy it  here.)

DAYS OF WINE & ROSÉS

wine and rosesThere's still a good chunk of summer left, but in rose land, the sun is already starting to set. Stocks are dwindling at our distributors and while we're trying to get our hands on as much as possible, it won't be long before some of our favorites are gone with the summer wind. Yes, we always keep a selection of roses on our shelves year round, but we're talking 3 or 4 - not the 10 or so we have in stock now. So this is the time to stock up on enough to get you through those freakishly warm days that always seem to hit sometime in early October!

Buy a straight-up case of any of the wines below (that's 12 bottles, all the same kind) and you'll get a 15% discount.* Or mix and match any 12 of our roses and get the usual 10% case discount.

Chateau du Rouet 2010 (Cotes de Provence, France): This is "the one in the curvy bottle." Last year, there was much crying and nashing of teeth when we ran out in September. Avoid the pain - stock up now.  Regular Price: $14.99 ($152.90/case with 15% discount)

Chateau de Rouquefort Corail  2010 (Provence , France):  Ties with the Rouet as our #1 seller. We just got in possibly our  5 cases, which required considerable begging. We're hopping some additional begging will result in a few more cases, but the well is running dry. Regular Price: $15.99 ($163.10/case with 15% discount)

Chateau Pradeaux Bandol  2009 (Bandol, France): Our last 3 cases for the vintage arrive today. If you like this wine, get it now, before we decide to just keep it for ourselves. Regular Price: $26.99 ($275.30/case with 15% discount)

Tenuta Delle Terre Nere Etna Rosato 2010 (Sicily, Italy): This one has the structure, minerality to take you into cooler fall weather. But our last three cases arrived last week, so if you want to be drinking it in the fall, you'll need to get it now. Regular Price: $17.99 ($183.50/case with 15% discount)

Palmina Botasea 2010 (Santa Barbara County, CA): A Nebbiolo-based rose that would be wonderful with Thanksgiving dinner. If you're the sort to plan that far ahead, now is the time to leap! Regular Price: $21.99 ($224.30/case with 15% discount)
